Job description

Position Overview

This is an entry-level position, but over time we’ll train you on the skills you’ll need to grow into new roles or departments.  In this role, you’ll assist with daily plant operation and maintenance. If you’ve got the drive, we’ll help you to reach your goals. 

Wage: $18.00 + /hr w/ potential for overtime.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently within its designed parameters.
  • Clean working areas around plant.
  • Shovel excess materials from around conveyors and other areas generating frequent build up.
  • Operate skid steer.
  • Perform general clean-up and maintenance (i.e. oiling, greasing plant equipment) duties as assigned.
  • Assist other departments with maintenance, operations, and/or other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minium Qualifications

  • A strong desire to grow, and the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks and equipment.  
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently without direct supervision and has a positive attitude.
  • Safety minded professional.
  • Demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing. 

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
  • Primarily work 8 - 12 hours per day 5-7 days per week during the peak season, occasional night work.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to reach with arms waist to shoulder height, sit, stand, walk and handle/grasp equipment and machines.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift, carry and/or push/pull anywhere up to 50-75 lbs.
  • The employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, squat, crouch or climb. And reach with arms above shoulder height or below knee height.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
