Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Technicianto join our growing facility inCamden, Arkansas.

TheManufacturing Technicianwill join an exceptional cross-functional team of engineers and technicians to fabricate components and assemble them into the most advanced solid rocket systems in the world. Aerojet-Rocketdyne is an industry leading supplier of missile components to the government for use in national defense.This is an entry-level position for mixing and processing of energetics for casting.

The position will involve functions such as cleaning and assembling equipment, cleaning tools, parts, and work area andoperatemachinery. They will record andmaintainrecords for manufactured products. Must work safely while producing ahigh qualityproduct andmaintaininga clean and orderly work area.

Works under close supervision and receives detailed instructions, the Manufacturing Technician 1 performs routine and repetitive duties within the manufacturing operations area. Apply general manufacturing knowledge to basic problems tocome up withlogical answers.

Essential Functions:

  • 50% - Full scale propellant mixing - Prepares materials and performs full-scale mixing for all production programs, confirming acceptable weights prior to releasing the materials to casting operations. The technician will also perform full-scale mixes fornew programs/new formulations as they are introduced to the site. The technicianis responsible forrequisitioning and organizing the materials and processingrequiredfor the mix, as well as cleaning andmaintainingfull scale mix equipment. Technician will perform these duties under the general direction of engineer and the area supervisor, using established, well-defined methods and calculations.
  • 10% - Mathematical - Perform mathematical calculations, such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, to create acceptable mixes for casting, and use process data to fill out manufacturing data sheets. These calculations are performed using well-defined methods.
  • 35% - Grinding - The technician will assemble grinders and grind materials for full-scale propellant mixes and weigh material bins to correct weight for propellant mixing. Technicianis responsible fordisassembly, cleaning, and re-assembly of full-scale grinding equipment.
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned - Such as but not limited to: AP prep for grinding, bowl plugging for mixing Prototype motor casting, development sample preparation, and support of new production initiatives and schedules.
  • Willingand available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
  • Ableto work from elevated platforms,ascendladders, andtransport35 lbs. repetitively.
  • Medicallycleared to wear a respirator andoperatepowered industrial vehicle (and obtain company issued license asappropriate).

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 years prior experience,2 yearpost-secondary/AA Degree and 4 years prior experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to follow safety practices.
  • Ability toestablishand maintain cooperative working relationships with the work team and those contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and quickly.
  • Ability to work with management,supervisoror lead personnel to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
