We are mission-driven, and together, we are an extraordinary team.
About the Role
The Toolmaker I is responsible for assisting experienced Toolmakers and Laser Tracker Operators in the fabrication, modification, and inspection of precision tools, fixtures, and components. The Toolmaker I will learn and apply fundamental toolmaking and metrology principles, while operating and maintaining laser tracking systems under direct supervision. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in precision measurement, machining, and tool fabrication within a manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will assist experienced Toolmakers in the setup and operation of manual and CNC machine tools, including mills, lathes, and grinders, while performing basic machining operations such as drilling, tapping, and deburring under supervision. You will contribute to the fabrication and assembly of jigs, fixtures, and tooling, maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to safety procedures by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Additionally, you will assist in the maintenance and repair of tooling, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to process optimization. You will document work performed and maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance and repairs, collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling meets quality and performance standards.
