Job description

Role Summary

The Forming Operator is an entry-level production role responsible for operating and monitoring forming equipment under direct supervision. This position supports the manufacturing process by assisting with machine setup, performing routine quality checks, maintaining production flow, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Forming Operator develops foundational technical skills while learning company processes, equipment functions, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forming equipment according to established work instructions and supervisor guidance

  • Assist with basic machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers as directed

  • Load raw materials (wire, bar, or other forming stock) into machines and ensure proper material flow

  • Monitor equipment during operation and notify supervisor of abnormalities, jams, or quality concerns

  • Perform routine in-process inspections using gauges and measuring devices to verify product specifications

  • Identify and segregate non-conforming material; communicate quality issues promptly

  • Complete required production documentation, including scrap reporting and production tracking sheets

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with 5S standards

  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and machine guarding requirements

  • Support preventive maintenance activities as directed

  • Assist in material handling, packaging, and labeling of finished goods

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Education: None

  • Experience: 0–2 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
