About the Role: Aquila Technology is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The team is in need of 2 Linux System Administrators to support the development of new technologies that enable worldwide networked operations for the military and other government agencies. The team addresses the needs of next-generation satellite, airborne, and terrestrial networks using its core expertise in radio frequency (RF), fiber and free-space optics, cyber security, network protocols and services, information operations, communications processing, and speech and language technologies. The team is extensively involved in field experimentation and measurement campaigns to verify algorithms and architectural concepts in operational environments. Must Have * Degree Level: Bachelor’s Degree * Clearance Level: Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance) * 3 years – Hardware: Dell, SuperMicro, Cisco, Apple, Intel/AMD. * 3 years – Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP and HTTP/S. * 3 years – Powershell and Ansible (or other programming languages) * 3 years – Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities * 3 years – Enterprise Backup Solutions * 6 years – Redhat Linux Systems Administration * 3 years – Strong Backup Experience and Proven Ability to Protect Mission Critical Data * 3 years – Virtualization Technologies (VMware, including ESXi and VCenter configuration) Nice to Have * Currently holds a Top Secret/SCI clearance * Programming * Python Programming/Scripting * Systems * Real Time Linux Kernels, Tuning and Performance Analysis Linux systems administrator with some Solaris experience. * Domains: IT Infrastructure, Networking, system architecture design, system configuration management, system troubleshooting * Responsible for management, administration, and support of all organizations IT systems’ infrastructure. * Responsible for configuring and maintaining (physical and virtual) servers and researcher workstations in a secure RMF compliant and documented manor. * Support additional technologies as they are adopted by the organization. * Responsible for vulnerability remediation on secure and unclassified organization systems. Addressing Cat 1, 2, 3 issues in a timely manner * Recognizing and troubleshooting issues with developer’s machines as they occur across a variety of Operating Systems. Windows, Linux, etc. * Perform all related duties as assigned. Required Technical Skills: * Operating Systems: Red hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu and VMware * Hardware: Dell, TrueNas, NetApp, Palo Alto * Software/applications: RedHat Satellite, Redhat Automation Platform, VMware vCenter/ESXI/vSAN, Github/Gitlab, Nessus/ACAS * Networking applications and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, NTP, SSH, PXE, SNMP * Programming Languages: Ansible, Shell Scripting, PowerShell. Skilled at centralized authentication ( Kerberos, SSSD, IDM, LDAP, Active Directory) Preferred Technical Skills: * Windows and macOS support * Juniper and/or Cisco experience is a plus * Docker and/or Podman is a plus * STIG experience is a plus Non-Technical Skills: * Candidates must be, team oriented, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated self-starters able to work independently, or with a group, to achieve program requirements. * Candidates must possess strong oral and written communications skills, and must be able to present findings/results to internal and external organizations. * Adhere to org policies and procedures * Ability to work with researchers to troubleshoot diverse and custom written applications in a secure environment. Applicable Education and Professional Accreditation: * Degree in one of the following disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related technical discipline * Certification(s) in one or more of the following disciplines: Red Hat, VMWare, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); CompTIA Security+; Linux Professional Institute Certification * Any prior military experience is a plus. Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) – Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement.
