Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled System Administrator with extensive experience in Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu operating systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.

**This is an onsite position in Cedar Rapids, IA**

What YOU will do:

System Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu servers.

  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.

  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

Red Hat System Administration:

  • Install and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.

  • Manage software packages using YUM and RPM package management.

  • Implement and manage system security policies and SELinux.

  • Configure and troubleshoot network settings and services.

  • Perform system monitoring and logging using tools like Rsyslog.

  • Automate administrative tasks using shell scripting and Ansible.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users and internal teams.

  • Respond to and resolve system-related incidents and service requests.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain security best practices for system administration.

  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments IAW NIST 800-53.

  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.

Backup and Recovery:

  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies.

  • Perform regular data backups and ensure data integrity.

  • Test and validate disaster recovery procedures.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and procedures.

  • Generate regular reports on system performance, security, and compliance.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • DoD SECRET security clearance is required day one.

  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher.

  • Extensive experience with applying DoD STIGs to RHEL and Ubuntu servers and workstations.

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator with expertise in Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu.

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, and network security.

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).

  • Familiarity with configuration management tools.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
