Entry-Level Linux & Python Engineer

Location: El Paso, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $21.50/hour
Minimum Commitment: 6 Months
Training: Day Shift

Job Overview

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Linux & Python Engineers to join our technical team in El Paso, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates, junior-level candidates, and candidates with internship or hands-on project experience who are looking to build their careers in Linux systems, Python programming, automation, and technical support.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of Linux and Python, strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Linux-based systems and perform basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Write, modify, and maintain Python scripts for automation and operational tasks.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential technical issues.
  • Assist senior engineers with system maintenance and technical projects.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software-related issues as needed.
  • Document processes, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and technical findings.
  • Follow operational, quality, and security guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Learn and apply new technical tools and processes.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems OR Python programming.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a technical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months.

Preferred

  • Experience with Python scripting or programming.
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
  • Exposure to Git or other version-control systems.
  • Internship, academic project, lab, or personal project experience involving Linux or Python.
  • Basic troubleshooting experience with computer hardware or software.

A Shift

  • Sunday–Tuesday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

B Shift

  • Sunday–Tuesday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM

C Shift

  • Wednesday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Thursday–Saturday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

D Shift

  • Wednesday: 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM
  • Thursday–Saturday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Compensation & Opportunity

  • $21.50/hour during training and applicable day-shift hours.
