Irrigation Service Technician – Take-Home Truck

Color Burst Landscapes
Mt. Juliet, TN
Pay: $22–$27 per hour, based on experience

Color Burst Landscapes is hiring an experienced Irrigation Service Technician to independently manage a daily route servicing irrigation and sprinkler systems throughout Mt. Juliet and the surrounding Nashville area.

This is not an entry-level irrigation position. You do not need to know how to repair every possible system issue, but you must have prior hands-on irrigation experience, understand the basic components of a sprinkler system, and be able to complete common service and repair work with minimal training.

The person selected for this position will receive a company truck to take home and will travel directly to assigned job sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently manage a daily irrigation service route
  • Travel directly from home to assigned residential and commercial properties
  • Diagnose common irrigation and sprinkler-system problems
  • Repair broken sprinkler heads, leaks, valves, piping, wiring, and other system components
  • Program, adjust, and troubleshoot irrigation controllers and timers
  • Test systems for proper operation, coverage, and water efficiency
  • Perform seasonal startups, shutdowns, and winterizations
  • Complete irrigation maintenance and service work orders on schedule
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding service needs and completed work
  • Document repairs, materials used, and job completion
  • Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and company vehicle
  • Assist with irrigation installations or landscape projects when needed
  • Follow all company safety and quality standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous hands-on irrigation installation, maintenance, or repair experience
  • Ability to identify irrigation-system components and complete common repairs
  • Experience troubleshooting sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, leaks, or wiring
  • Ability to work independently and manage a service route with minimal supervision
  • Strong attendance, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to use a mobile phone or tablet to receive assignments and document completed work
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to obtain any certifications required for the position

Candidates with experience as an Irrigation Technician, Sprinkler Technician, Irrigation Service Technician, Lawn Sprinkler Technician, or Irrigation Repair Technician are encouraged to apply.

Company Truck

This position includes a take-home company truck. The technician will be responsible for keeping the vehicle, tools, and materials clean, organized, and properly maintained.

Physical and Work Requirements

This is a physical outdoor position that requires the ability to:

  • Work outside in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions
  • Bend, kneel, dig, lift, carry, and work on uneven ground
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and irrigation equipment
  • Work around dirt, dust, pollen, insects, moving equipment, and loud noise
  • Work additional hours during peak seasons when needed

Compensation

$22–$27 per hour, based on irrigation experience and qualifications.
