Job Summary

The Seasonal Golf Course Laborer plays a key role in maintaining the daily playability and appearance of the golf course. This entry-level, seasonal position supports the grounds team in preparing and maintaining tees, fairways, bunkers, and other playing surfaces to deliver a high-quality golfer experience.

This is an early-morning role with in-season hours of 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, and availability to work one weekend morning (Saturday or Sunday) is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Rake and maintain sand bunkers to ensure consistent play conditions
  • Repair divots on tees and fairways to preserve turf quality
  • Perform line trimming and weeding around course features
  • Mow playing surfaces such as tees and collars using appropriate equipment
  • Assist with general course maintenance tasks as needed
  • Follow safety guidelines and equipment operation standards

Qualifications

  • Entry-level position; prior golf course or landscaping experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work early morning hours
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to take direction

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for 5 minutes, walk for 2 hours and sit for 30 minutes consecutively.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Distance carried - 50 feet maximum.
  • Ability to handle items such as plants, bushes, hoses, shovels, rakes, and burlap bags - which are handled by two workers.
  • Ability to lift 30-35 lbs. (120 lbs. trees lifted and carried by 4 individuals) a distance of 20 feet for planting.
  • Ability to push or pull grass into rolls requiring force of up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull, twist, and turn trees with a force of up to 35 lbs. when planting trees.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist when picking leaves, branches, trimming, mowing, digging trenches, setting forms, and planting.

Work Environment:

  • Work outdoors in moderate to extreme heat in dry/humid near automotive traffic, natural bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical/electrical hazards, and direct sunlight.
  • Requires protective clothing and personal devices: Eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, ear plugs, long sleeved shirts, and work boots.

Compensation Pay Range:

$16-$19/hour depending on experience
