Job description

Position Overview
The Horticulture Crew Member is an entry-level production role. The Crew Member spends most of the time in the field working with a 2-3 person crew under the direction of a Crew Leader.

Job Duties
  • Maintaining landscape beds by weeding, watering, and leaf blowing
  • Planting and maintaining seasonal color in beds and containers
  • Basic ornamental pruning and perennial care
  • Removing trash and debris
  • Installing exterior and interior seasonal holiday decor
  • Other duties may include raking, insect control, edging, mulching, etc.

Day-to-Day Stuff
  • Performing work requested by the supervisor, in the timeframe requested, to the level of professionalism expected by members of Team Perficut
  • Adhering to quality and safety standards
  • Demonstrating willingness to learn how to operate equipment and tools needed to perform daily tasks
  • Evaluating and reporting conditions that detract from the safety or aesthetic value of the property
  • Communicating effectively with supervisor, crew leader and crew members
  • Accurately recording hours worked on a daily basis in accordance with expectations
  • Meeting deadlines and following instructions and expectations expressed by supervisor or crew leader
  • Other duties as assigned

Characteristics Needed to Succeed
  • Valid driver's license with eligibility to be added to Company's auto insurance preferred
  • Obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicators Certification 3OT within 90 days of hire
  • Positive attitude and desire to make corporate sites beautiful
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and with a team
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours, as needed, including some weekends
  • Reliability. We need you to come to work on time, every day.
