JOB SUMMARY:
The Landscape Designer will work closely with a Senior Landscape Designer and Project Manager who will mentor you and provide guidance to help you grow professionally while contributing to the success of our design team. Responsible for working with clients, account managers, operations personnel and other Design Team members to produce creative, precise, and practical landscape designs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
  • Associate's degree in horticulture, landscape design, landscape architect or other related field: or equivalent experience and knowledge in the industry.

Experience
  • At least 1 -2 years of experience in landscape design or horticulture, with a basic understanding of Landscape Design and Horticulture. Entry - level candidates with relevant coursework or internship experience will also be considered.

License or Certification
  • Valid Driver's License from state of employment, required.

Specialized Skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • High level understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Effective oral and written communication English required
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to speak or has an interest in learning Spanish
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with senior designers, clients, and contractors

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following are the tasks considered to be the essential duties of the Landscape Designer position. Though they are listed in order of importance a successful person in this position will perform all these duties with equal skill and enthusiasm.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients to determine design needs, requirements, and requests.
  • Prepare designs and proposals to meet clients' needs.
  • Collaborate with clients on designs to final versions.
  • Work with Account Managers to create proposals for design installations. Landscape
  • Work with clients on a regular basis to maintain working relationships and enhance customer service.
  • Source and order specialty materials.
  • Communicate with the client and crew on a daily basis.
  • Participate in pre-and post-project walk-through.
  • Represent the company in appropriate industry organizations for the purpose of building relationships that lead to new business.
  • Perform site analyses including gathering information on GIS, stormwater, management, existing landscape conditions, site challenges, and other site features as appropriate.
  • Research and comply with HOA, city, county, state, and other applicable landscape and permit requirements and work with officials as appropriate.
  • Consolidate site information to create base plans.
  • Create conceptual designs as needed.
  • Create detailed, scaled landscape plans that meet the needs of the client while taking into consideration the realities of the site.

  • Work with operations managers and account managers to source and purchase plant materials, schedule design installations, visit sites ahead of installation to review design, lay out and install designed landscapes, ensure design specifications are met and provide quality control.
