What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for an energetic, cooperative and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen culinary team! The ideal Kitchen Steward works well with others and is highly dependable, and able to manage high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.

This is an excellent entry-level position for someone who has restaurant dishwashing experience that is looking to make a long-term career in the hotel industry!

Position Summary: The Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment to support service operations. This role is responsible for dishwashing, sanitation, waste removal, and assisting with basic kitchen support tasks while adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.

This is a Full-Time position, working 5 days a week, and requires ability to work any day of the week, either morning or evening shifts, including weekends and holidays. Typical schedule will include 2 Morning shifts, and 3 Evening shifts, and will change weekly based on business demands.

Specifically, as the banquet captain your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate large commercial dishwasher equipment to wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Hand Scrub pots and pans; Burnish, de-tarnish, and polish silver.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and back-of-house areas
  • Remove trash and food waste according to safety standards
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and supplies are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic support tasks as needed
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
  • Report safety or maintenance concerns promptly.
  • This list is not all inclusive, additional job functions will be shared during interviews.

All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience as a kitchen steward in a full-service hotel, restaurant, or similar food service environment that uses large commercial cleaning equipment, is desired.
  • Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work well in a team and effectively communicate with staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities in a fast-paced environment and respond with a sense of urgency when needed.
  • Moving food, equipment, carts, and tubs up to 50 lbs. frequently, throughout shift, to perform essential job functions.
  • Frequent and repeated lifting, extending arms fully, reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, stooping and climbing up/down small ladder for duration of shift is required.
  • Able to work in varying temperature and noise level, including exposure to hot surfaces, steam and loud commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Moving through-out entire kitchen and outside trash disposal areas for duration of shift.
  • Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of shift.
  • Ability to observe and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross-contamination protocols, and sanitation.
