Position Overview
An immediate opportunity currently exists inย ourย Edmonton branch.ย The ideal candidate will be an energetic, self-motivated professional with experience in land development or municipal engineering related design projects.ย 
Duties and Responsibilitiesย 
  • Prepare and develop designs for civil works, including engineering drawings for site plan applications, plan and profiles, report figures, etc.
  • Experience in land development,ย commercialย andย institutional practice areasย 
  • Lead and assist in the development of designs specific to site grading and site servicing; sewers, watermains, roads, stormwater management and sedimentation and erosion controlย 
  • Experience and knowledge including an understanding of municipal, regional and provincial design guidelines and drawingย requirements.ย 
  • Ensure a complete understanding of project requirements and client expectations to aid in the successful completion of the workย 
  • Contract specification document preparation including cost estimatesย 
  • Plan, organize and prioritize the project tasks under your responsibility in conjunction with others to maximize productivity and to effectively meet established guidelinesย 
  • Initiate and follow-up circulation to various agencies and work with appropriate authorities to establish relationships to gain speedy approval acquisitionย 
  • Mentor junior staffย

Skills and Experienceย 

  • 1-2ย years of relevant experience inย designย for public and/orย private clientsย 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teamsย 
  • Good working knowledge of MS Officeย 
  • Excellent interpersonal,ย written,ย and verbal communication skillsย 
  • A strong attention to detail and accuracyย 
  • Experience with stormwater and water modeling softwareย 
  • High level of expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D is requiredย 
  • College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related fieldย
