We are seeking a driven, entry-level salesperson to join our growing Business Development team at Waites Sensor Technologies. This role is ideal for someone with extreme grit, a strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude, who is excited to learn sales by solving real-world problems for customers. As a BDR, you’ll often be the first point of contact for prospective customers and play a critical role in setting the tone for their experience with Waites. You’ll be paired closely with one or more Account Executives (Enterprise and Commercial) and work closely with them to support the full front end of the sales process—from cold calling and prospecting to identifying and qualifying high-value opportunities and targets.

Job Description:

This position will give you the opportunity to prove what you’re made of and build a foundation for a successful career in sales. The Business Development Representative role at Waites Sensor Technologies is fast-paced, demanding, and rewarding for those willing to put in the work.

In this role, you will:

  • Work side-by-side with your paired Account Executive to build pipeline from the ground up
  • Research accounts and industries to execute intentional, market-specific outreach strategies within your assigned territory
  • Qualify leads from high-value target lists and marketing-generated prospects
  • Drive outbound efforts through high-volume cold calling, email campaigns, and strategic social outreach
  • Consistently set 5+ qualified meetings per week
  • Push through rejection and confidently overcome early objections to earn the next conversation
  • Move prospects from first touch to initial meeting through preparation and persistence
  • Support opportunities beyond the first meeting by helping push deals down the sales cycle
  • Leverage LinkedIn and other platforms to build familiarity, credibility, and long-term relationships
  • Use HubSpot to stay organized, log activity accurately, and support operational sales tasks as needed
  • Build trust and strong working relationships with prospects and internal team members
  • Track relentlessly toward goals and consistently push to exceed them
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in customer service or sales is preferred
  • Familiarity with basic sales processes and lead qualification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
