Job description

JOB TITLE: Operations Coordinator (Entry-Level)
LOCATION: Sterling Heights, MI, US
WORKING HOURS: 7am - 4.30pm
About Pineapple
Pineapple is a global leader in designing innovative furniture solutions for challenging environments. Founded in 1975 as a family-run business, we now operate worldwide with offices in the UK, France, Germany, and the USA, employing over 200 people globally.
We design furniture that supports calm, safety, and wellbeing-combining functionality, sustainability, and great design.
About the role
This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for recent graduates or early-career candidates to gain hands-on experience across operations, logistics, and customer service within a growing business.
As an Operations Coordinator, you'll support the day-to-day running of our operations, splitting your time between office-based coordination and practical warehouse activities. You'll gain exposure to the full order lifecycle-from customer enquiries through to fulfilment and delivery-while working closely with our Operations Supervisor and Head of Operations.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, enjoys variety, and is comfortable taking a hands-on approach-whether that's responding to customers or helping prepare shipments on the warehouse floor.
Full training will be provided. This role offers a strong foundation for a career in operations, logistics, or supply chain, with opportunities to grow within the business.
What you'll be doing
  • Respond to customer enquiries (email and phone) regarding orders, deliveries, and after-sales support.
  • Assist with booking and tracking shipments (domestic and international).
  • Support inventory tracking and basic operational reporting.
  • Help manage sample products, including tracking, shipping, and returns.
  • Assist with warehouse organization and stock control.
  • Support order preparation, picking, packing, and labeling.
  • Help with goods-in and goods-out processes, including checking deliveries.
  • Assist with loading/unloading deliveries (training provided where required).
  • Work with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support the wider team with ad hoc operational tasks.

Requirements
What we're looking for
  • Recent graduate or early-career candidate welcome; no prior logistics experience required.
  • Any experience in warehouse, logistics, retail, or operations environments is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfortable working in a role split between administrative and hands-on warehouse responsibilities (approximately 50/50).
  • Forklift experience or familiarity with OSHA standards is a plus, but not required (training provided).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Customer-focused with clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and support team lifting for heavier items.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Interest in learning logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Flexible and willing to support broader operational needs as required.
  • You embody our company's people values:
  • Teamwork - Collaborate effectively with humility, appreciating and integrating individual skills and perspectives to achieve collective goals.
  • Committed - Dedicate yourself fully to your role, going above and beyond with self-motivation and loyalty to achieve individual, team, and company goals.
  • Ownership - Take full responsibility for your work, performance, and conduct, acting with integrity, staying organised, and learning from feedback and mistakes.
  • Positive - Approach tasks with optimism and innovation, viewing challenges as opportunities, and bringing energy and enthusiasm to inspire and motivate others.
  • Responsive - React quickly and effectively to needs and feedback, prioritising tasks with urgency, embracing change, and maintaining a proactive approach.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • 100% company-paid healthcare and 401(k) plan to secure your future
  • 15 days PTO + local holidays, plus an extra day off for your birthday
  • Make a global impact: a tree planted in your honor
  • Fun team socials and monthly Pizza Fridays
