This role is fully on site. Candidates selected to move forward will complete our standard prescreening process, which includes a background check and drug screen.

About The Role

The Test Specialist performs functional and quality testing of APCON network monitoring hardware and components under direct supervision. This entry-level role follows established test procedures, documents results with precision, and escalates defects to senior team members. It is an excellent starting point for individuals looking to build a career in hardware testing and quality assurance within the networking industry.

What You Will Do

  • Execute predefined test procedures on network TAPs, packet brokers, and switch chassis.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic functional tests on assembled hardware.
  • Record and document test results accurately in tracking systems.
  • Identify and report product defects or anomalies to senior testing staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized test workspace.
  • Assist with inventory management of test equipment and components.
  • Support calibration activities for basic test instruments.
  • Follow safety protocols and ESD handling procedures at all times.

What You Bring

  • Ability to follow detailed written test procedures with accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and networking concepts.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to accurately document, track and maintain testing records.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, multimeters, and basic test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and position hardware components up to 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in electronics, networking, or a related technical field preferred.
