Job description

Subaru of Portland, a dealership part of the O’Brien Auto Group, is looking for a Full-Time Entry Level Parts Counter individual for our Parts Department. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service keeping in mind that our customer’s perspective comes first. A successful candidate will maintain accurate parts inventory and assist the Parts department with routine audits, parts organization, and tracking as well as ship, deliver, and receive parts orders.

This position pays $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Assist all customers promptly and professionally including retail and service. Communication must be clear and concise.
  • Maintain parts inventory, including stocking shelves, organizing bins, binning new parts and recording the location, conducting perpetual bin audits, and maintain special order bins.
  • Assist in Physical Parts Inventory.
  • Deliver parts to technicians or part recipient; pull orders for counter persons when necessary.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area; all materials stored below the counter area.
  • Immediately notify parts manager of damaged parts or shortages.
  • Sweep floors, empty trash containers daily, and maintain a clean parts department.
  • Maintain clean delivery vehicle. Drive cautiously and safely staying within the laws of the road.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive dealership service experience is a plus.
  • A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of computers

Equipment/Machines/Tools Typically Used:  Computer, calculator, phone, adding machine, copy machine, pens/pencils, stapler, scissors, letter opener, and fax machine.

Chemicals:  Numerous chemicals are used/handled on a frequent basis.  Employee will be trained by their supervisor on the safe handling/use of these substances.  Employee will follow all safety directives at all times.

Physical Demands:  Intermittent standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching; frequent twisting and turning of the trunk, reaching, handling of objects; lifting of 100 lbs or less and carrying of 50 lbs or less; occasional pushing, pulling, climbing, and balancing.
