Job description

The Inventory Coordinator position will maintain levels of non-maintenance inventory supplies, work to improve the accuracy of finished goods inventory, and look for ideas to manage and control costs.  This coordinator will back up the shipping lead and ensure production and shipping tonnage are correct, in a timely fashion.

  • Up to 2 years of experience required, with inventory or warehouse operations experience preferred.
  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Handles basic issues and problems, escalating more complex matters to higher-level staff.

  • Project future inventory required and initiate purchase of non-maintenance inventory parts for the site (soda ash, packaging supplies, shipping supplies, pallets etc.) to ensure sufficient levels are maintained.

  • Conduct monthly and yearly inventory cycle counts of finished goods, packaging, pallets, shipping supplies, fuel, and soda ash and generate reports as needed.

  • Check soda ash levels daily.

  • Assist with the requirements of inventory audits, ISO audits, and customer audits to ensure they are met.

  • Lead efforts to realize 95% finished goods inventory accuracy.

  • Prepare and complete purchase requisitions as required.

  • Review ERP system to balance daily production numbers.

  • Review ERP system to balance daily shipping numbers for accurate shipping volumes.

  • Process plant fuel receipts, non-maintenance inventory parts receipts, soda ash freight receipts and monthly gas fuel logs.

  • Cover for Shipping Lead absences including shipping different modes of transport and ERP transactions.

  • File paperwork as appropriate.

  • Conduct safety compliance audits.

  • Additional Duties and tasks as assigned.
