Summary
Entry level during which an employee receives both functional and organizational training under close supervision. Incumbents carry out assignments within well-defined practices, procedures and policies. Works independently on details of assignments, and has limited decision-making authority; most decisions are made or guided by the immediate supervisor. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the department's/divisions goals. Works under close Supervision and requires direction on how assignments are to be executed; begins to put forward ideas on how work assignments are completed. Establishes cooperative relationships to work effectively with colleagues; supports others and participates as a team member, and takes responsibility for own work commitments. Interacts directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Coordinates activities of cycle counters across the business areas.
  • Monitors activities to ensure proper priorities and deployment.
  • Identifies process issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists with variance analysis to identify root cause of issues.
  • Reports cycle count findings and assist in implementation of process improvements.
  • Tracks and follows-up on process improvements.
  • Communicates initiatives across the business areas.
  • Presents cycle count findings, write-offs and process improvements to senior management.
  • Provides training, support and mentoring to NCM Specialists to assist them in analyzing data and understanding role in Inventory Management.
  • Develops and implements process changes to improve the current process.
  • Facilitates monthly meetings to give team a technical or business update.
  • Provides training on NCM for site employees to gain an understanding and need for the NCM process.
  • Performs audits on physical processes and adherence to physical processes.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Basic knowledge of production planning fundamentals, scheduling, materials requirements planning techniques and manufacturing control systems.
  • Knowledge of warehouse, distribution, inventory control, and shipping/receiving practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to perform root cause analysis, interpret data, and resolve issues.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of material movement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers.
  • Ability to provide leadership to a group of employees.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers
