Overview & Position Summary
This position supports the interior design process by assisting homebuyers with their design selections and ensuring choices align with product standards, budgets, and construction requirements. This role contributes to the preparation of model home selections, the maintenance of design materials, and the accuracy of documentation used throughout the design and construction process. It collaborates with cross-functional partners to resolve selection-related questions and support a smooth design experience.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Guide homebuyers through the design selection process, providing information on finishes, materials, and available options
  • Prepare and document design selections to ensure accuracy and alignment with operational requirements
  • Maintain design samples, finish libraries, and presentation materials to support buyer appointments and model selections
  • Assist in developing cohesive design palettes that reflect community standards and market trends
  • Review design selections for completeness, accuracy, and feasibility
  • Coordinate with construction, purchasing, and sales teams to answer design-related questions and clarify selection details
  • Resolve design or documentation issues using prior experience and structured analysis
  • Support model home design preparation, including materials research and coordination with merchandising
  • Provide guidance or assistance to entry-level design or support team members

Education & Experience
Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in interior design or related professional disciplines, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional education
  • Experience supporting interior design development, documentation, or coordination activities
  • Experience working within established processes and standards under moderate supervision

Preferred:
  • Additional experience in residential or customer-facing interior design environments
  • Broad knowledge of interior design workflows, systems, and tools
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally within design or operational teams
