Job description
DHI Communities is a multifamily development division of D.R. Horton, Inc.
DHI Communities is currently looking for a Multifamily-Asset Manager. The right candidate will be responsible for the successful lease-up and management of newly developed multifamily communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Primary point of contact with property management (internal or external property management)
- Capable to oversee multiple lease-ups simultaneously
- Provides strategic guidance for lease rates and optimal lease-up absorption pace
- Performs on-site property inspections to assess property presentation, signage, and condition, and to monitor property management team's effectiveness
- Creates action plans that drive investment performance and valuation
- Coordinates execution and communication between property management & construction teams
- Manages approval process for property operating decisions
- Analyzes market research to evaluate ideal positioning for each property within its submarket and considering factors that may influence success
- Reviews community operating budgets and monitors community adherence to expectations
- Provides timely feedback to inquiries and diligence requests during dispositions
- Negotiates contractual relationship with management companies and other vendors as needed
- Contributes to business plan and budget creation as needed
- Participates in evaluation and design of prospective communities upon request
- Assist in underwriting rental communities by providing rent and operating expense assumptions
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to travel frequently and overnight

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Three or more years related experience and/or training
- Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and excellent organization skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in asset management or working in or with property management preferred
- Ability to conduct market research a plus
