Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center is seeking a high-caliber, service-driven Check-In Receptionist to serve as a critical part of our patient access team. This role is far more than front desk support-it is the gateway to the patient experience.
As the first point of contact, you set the tone for every patient visit. You will play a key role in ensuring patients feel welcomed, valued, and confident in their care from the moment they walk through our doors. Experience / Educational Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a customer service, healthcare, or administrative role preferred
Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments strongly preferred
Essential Functions
Patient Access and Front Desk Excellence
Greet and check in patients with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments accurately across multiple providers and locations
Ensure all patient demographic and insurance information is complete and correct at time of visit
Maintain patient flow by managing check-in volume and minimizing delays
Customer Service and Patient Experience
Deliver a consistently high level of customer service in every interaction
Demonstrate empathy, patience, and active listening with patients and families
Handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure
Resolve patient concerns promptly or escalate appropriately
Operational Efficiency and Accuracy
Perform high-volume data entry with accuracy and attention to detail
Communicate effectively with clinical teams to support efficient clinic operations
Respond timely to patient, provider, and leadership requests
Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and all patient privacy guidelines
Professional Expectations
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical setting

Reliable, punctual, and committed to team success
Schedule and Requirements
Must be able to arrive no later than 6:50 AM to support clinic start times
Must be able to remain until clinic close (typically 4:30-5:00 PM)
Required to work one Saturday per month (7:00 AM-11:00 AM) during football season (August-November)
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between Jackson, Madison, and Flowood locations
Compensation and Incentives
