Position: IT Application Developer / Support Engineer
Employment Type: Full-Time (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: San Antonio, TX , 78253(On-site)
Reports To: IT Data Engineer
 
Need someone with SQL Server experience, preferably with formal SQL training, certification, or hands-on experience writing SQL Server stored procedures. Since this position will involve significant SQL development, the client would also like candidates to be able to pass a basic SQL technical interview.
 
Position Summary
The IT Application Developer / Support Engineer will work as part of the existing IT team to develop, maintain, and modernize the organization's business applications while supporting day-to-day IT operations. This position combines software development, database development, Azure modernization initiatives, application support, and general IT support. As modernization opportunities arise, this position will support projects under the direction of the IT Data Engineer and in partnership with the Technology & Innovation Committee.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain applications using VB.NET, C#, and PHP.
Write and maintain SQL Server stored procedures, functions, views, and queries.
Participate in Joomla integration, API development, and Azure modernization projects.
Support Azure SQL, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI initiatives.
Provide Windows desktop, printer, Microsoft 365, and basic networking support.
Assist with application testing, deployments, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
entry level candidates with internships or strong academic/personal projects are encouraged to apply.
Mid-level candidates should have 2 3 years of software development experience.
Strong Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL experience, including stored procedures.
Experience with VB.NET or C# and PHP.
Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Basic Windows desktop, printer, and networking troubleshooting skills.
Experience using Git or Azure DevOps source control is preferred.
