Job description

Description:

Dependable Nursing is looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to re-energize and grow our home healthcare referral network across North County and Central San Diego. You will be the sole Business Development Representative, with the autonomy to own your territory and the full support of our leadership and clinical team behind you. As referrals grow and the department expands, this role is positioned to evolve into a leadership opportunity โ€” with plans to build out the Business Development team around you.

Our focus is connecting seniors and post-surgery patients with reliable, compassionate in-home care. You will be out in the community every day โ€” developing our brand, nurturing relationships, and bringing Dependable Nursing's mission to life where it matters most.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain referral relationships with physicians, orthopedic and surgical practices, hospitals, discharge planners, SNFs, VA facilities, and senior living communities
  • Able to confidently deliver in-services and presentations to clinical and administrative staff at partner facilities
  • Secure and renew referral agreements and preferred provider partnerships throughout the territory
  • Educate referral sources on Dependable Nursing's home healthcare services for seniors and post-surgical patients
  • Conduct consistent in-person outreach across North County and Central San Diego
  • Partner with clinical and intake teams to ensure smooth, timely patient admissions
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activity and referral pipeline in Axxess
  • Represent Dependable Nursing at community events, health fairs, and networking opportunities
  • Contribute to the planning and future growth of the Business Development department

Benefits

  • Base salary + performance-based incentive compensation
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Matching 401K
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Clear growth path into a leadership role as the department expands
  • Supportive team culture where your work makes a real difference
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of healthcare marketing, sales, or business development experience
  • Background in Home Health, Home Care, Senior Care, or Post-Acute services strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Medicare and/or VA populations and referral processes
  • Experience using Axxess or similar home health CRM/EMR platforms preferred
  • Base access (current or ability to obtain) is a plus
  • Existing referral relationships in the San Diego area a plus
  • Some leadership or mentorship experience preferred, with interest in growing into a team lead role
  • Warm, professional, and genuinely passionate about serving seniors and patients
  • Self-motivated, organized, and dependable โ€” comfortable owning a territory independently
  • Valid CA driver's license and reliable transportation
