What is an entry-level insurance job?

An entry-level insurance job is a position designed for individuals who are new to the insurance industry and may have little or no prior experience. These roles often include positions such as customer service representative, claims assistant, underwriter trainee, or sales agent trainee. Entry-level insurance jobs typically provide on-the-job training and opportunities to learn about insurance products, policies, and regulations. They are a great way to start a career in insurance and can lead to advancement into more specialized or senior roles as you gain experience.

What are some common challenges faced by entry-level professionals as they transition into a new industry?

Entry-level professionals often encounter challenges such as adapting to a fast-paced work environment, learning industry-specific terminology, and balancing multiple responsibilities. It's common to feel a learning curve as you familiarize yourself with new systems and workflows. Seeking guidance from colleagues, asking questions, and taking initiative in training sessions can greatly ease the transition and accelerate your growth in the organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry-level insurance agent, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Insurance Agent, you generally need a high school diploma or equivalent, strong sales aptitude, and completion of state-required licensing. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software and quoting tools is often necessary, along with passing relevant insurance exams. Strong communication, persistence, and relationship-building skills help agents connect with clients and close sales. These skills are crucial for building a client base, maintaining compliance, and contributing to agency growth.

* Richmond, BC * Full-time, permanent position working Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm * Competitive starting salary + potential for bonus based on company performance * Company paid MSP * Excellent entry-level opportunity with on-the-job training provided   Have you been searching for a job opportunity that will become the foundation of a long-term career?   Are you looking to join an organization that values learning and growth, provides its employees with autonomy, and offers an opportunity to be part of a fun, small-team environment?   If so, look no further. We take pride in providing a world-class service to our loyal customer base, for all their freight-forwarding needs.   That’s where you come in.   We’re looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team and become our newest logistics and freight-forwarding expert.   In this role, your primary goal is to oversee customer shipments and related documentation, while providing an exceptional level of service to our clients. As a Logistics Coordinator you will:   * Handle customer shipment files from booking until closing * Connect with a variety of national and overseas vendors (customs, transport/shipping companies, airlines, etc.) to arrange shipments of customers’ goods * Arrange, organize, and file all transportation documentation (customs & import/export documents, bills of lading, customer invoices, etc.) in coordination with customs brokers and other transportation agents   * Coordinate and communicate with clients and vendors to ensure shipments are on schedule * Update clients and provide regular reports about shipment status * Address customer calls and inquiries via phone and email * Invoice clients upon shipment execution   This is an exciting opportunity to connect with people worldwide, while learning the ins-and-outs of the transportation and logistics industry. Our team is dedicated to your growth and will support you every step of the way as you learn the full scope of our business operations. While no specific logistics or freight-forwarding experience is required for this role, the following qualities will set you up for success:   * You’re creative – you think outside the box to get things done and enjoy coming up with innovative solutions for customers. * You’re determined – you strive to go above and beyond in all your responsibilities. * You’re proactive – you’re always on the lookout for ways to improve processes and business functions. When you identify these opportunities, you put your hand up without hesitation. * You’re organized with a strong attention to detail – you’re able to manage lots of information without missing any important details. When it comes to shipping and transportation, you understand that even the small details matter.   Working with CSL Canada   As part of our small, close-knit team, you will enjoy a high degree of responsibility and autonomy.   Everyone on our team shares decision-making ability and has the freedom to take on projects and tasks beyond their specific roles. That’s because we’re committed to providing our employees with career-building roles, not just jobs. Here, the opportunities to get involved are endless - we’re dedicated to training you to handle a wide range of responsibilities in our office, because we want to see you succeed with us long-term.  We have a supportive and enjoyable work culture, where we recognize our employees for their contributions and successes and provide feedback regularly.   We are dedicated to maintaining a welcoming, safe, and drug-free work environment for all our employees. If this sounds like the kind of team you’d want to be a part of, then read on!   What Makes You an Ideal Candidate   * Experience in a customer service or client-facing role * Strong verbal and written English communication skills * Strong computer proficiency, with ability to work with basic spreadsheets, formulas, and functions in MS Excel for data entry * Experience providing customer service or working with customers via phone and/or email is an asset * Experience creating and processing customer invoices is an asset * Experience in the logistic, transportation, and/or freight-forwarding industry is a plus but not required * Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is an asset * Post-secondary degree or diploma (any field) * Ability to pass a criminal record background check and   Most importantly, we’re looking for individuals who are willing to learn and excited to begin their careers with us!   How to Apply    Our online application gives you the chance to apply as more than just a resume. We’ll assess your qualifications, personality traits and workplace preferences, which should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. After submitting, you'll be able to view your results.    We strive to build diverse teams that reflect the community, and encourage applications from all groups.  If we can make this easier through accommodation in the recruitment process, please contact us using the “Help” button.    We will review applications, with priority given to those who have completed the assessment and look forward to hearing from you.
