Job Title: Assembler
Location: Houston, TX 77041
Duration: 6+ Months
Pay Rate: $20.00–$22.00/hr (W-2)
Sourcing Focus:
Priority will be given to mechanical assemblers with oil & gas industry experience, as this background best aligns with the technical and operational requirements of the role.
Responsibilities
Assemble finished products, components, and sub-assemblies for oil & gas control valves, controllers, and chemical injection pumps
Work under close supervision as an individual contributor
Follow all quality procedures, safety policies (OSHA), and ethical standards
Use required PPE (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.)
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
Report unsafe conditions immediately
Participate in Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives
Essential Functions
Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications
Assemble, test, and package products using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
Set up pneumatic and hydrostatic test stands; record test results
Disassemble and repair returned products as needed
Complete inspection and test documentation, including heat numbers and nameplates
Verify materials and components meet quality standards
Position Details
Must reside in Houston, TX or surrounding area
Shift:
Entry-level candidates will receive assembly, safety, quality, and on-the-job training
No immigration sponsorship
Climate-controlled warehouse; standing and physically demanding work
Uniforms provided upon regular employment
Steel-toe, puncture-resistant shoes required (other PPE provided)
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
1+ year experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Experience in assembly or testing (oil & gas, automotive, appliance, or electronic products)
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Basic computer skills and math proficiency
Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness
Positive attitude, adaptability, and teamwork mindset
Preferred Qualifications
Experience assembling/testing valves, chemical injection pumps, controllers, or similar oil & gas products
High-mix, high-volume manufacturing experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience reading assembly drawings and BOMs
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
Physical Requirements
Frequent lifting (10–40 lbs), standing, handling tools, and fine manipulation
Occasional bending, pushing, pulling, and walking
