Job description

Assistant Project Manager (Construction) – Entry Level / Hybrid

Location: Manhattan & Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid)

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Employment Type: Temporary (June 2026 – December 2026) with potential for extension into 2027 based on company workload and project pipeline.

About Us

We are a growing luxury residential general contracting company specializing in high-end apartment, condominium, co-op, and townhouse renovations throughout New York City. Our projects range from kitchen and bathroom renovations to full-home remodels requiring coordination among multiple trades, consultants, architects, and building management teams.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support active construction projects throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. This position is ideal for someone with 6 months to 2 years of construction-related experience who is looking to develop a long-term career in construction project management.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position consisting of:

  • Approximately 3 days per week visiting active jobsites
  • Approximately 2 days per week working remotely
  • Up to 40 hours per week depending on workload and candidate availability

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and administration
  • Visit active jobsites to document project progress and assist with field coordination
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and consultants
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, estimating, and scope reviews
  • Track material deliveries and project schedules
  • Maintain project files, meeting notes, logs, and documentation
  • Assist with change order tracking and project budgeting
  • Support permit, building management, and project closeout requirements
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate project updates
  • Perform additional project management duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • 6 months to 2 years of construction, architecture, engineering, or project coordination experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel independently to jobsites throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

Preferred

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and blueprints
  • Familiarity with construction terminology and building systems
  • Experience with Bluebeam or similar construction software
  • Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related educational background
  • Experience working on residential renovation projects

Transportation

  • Public transportation is acceptable and expected for most jobsite visits
  • Personal vehicle is not required
  • Mileage reimbursement may be provided for project-related travel requiring a personal vehicle

Compensation & Growth

  • Starting pay: $20.00 per hour
  • Cell phone stipend may be negotiated based on experience and responsibilities
