Filtrex Service Group - HVAC/R Maintenance Technician

Filtrex is a nationwide company searching for skilled technicians to perform, conduct, and complete thorough preventative maintenance on all heating, ventilation air conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment throughout various facilities. General duties include inspection, and cleaning of all types of HVAC/R equipment. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, responsible and carry a professional appearance and attitude. They must also have a broad understanding of smartphone technology for digital communication and documentation.
The Position

Perform standard preventative maintenance tasks of various pieces of equipment in accordance with manufacturers standards, including filter changes. Complete minor equipment adjustments, including but not limited to belt replacement/adjustment, coil cleaning, evaporator and condensing coil cleaning, ice machine cleaning, maintain and treat condensate pans. Conduct visual and auditory inspections of equipment to assess proper function. Identify, evaluate and make recommendations related to equipment condition in order to prevent and/or minimize equipment failures and down time. Complete preventative maintenance forms on mobile app, taking photos and documenting work as it is performed.
Typical Schedule and working conditions

Our average technician travels for three weeks per month, working six days per week, with one full week off at home. They have most holidays off, at home. Up to 20 hours of overtime is required each week.
Perform duties in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, accumulated precipitation on and around serviceable equipment, ceiling plenums, unpleasant odors, wet or damp environments, dimly lit equipment enclosures, etc. Perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling and reaching Lifting and or moving up to 10 lbs. frequently and occasionally lift or move up to 50 - 100 lbs.
Must be able to pass a background check
Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year HVAC experience
  • Ice machine experience preferred
  • 3 year clean driving record
  • EPA license preferred
  • OSHA 10 license preferred
  • Technologically savvy

  • Function highly independent with minimal direct supervision
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Continually enforce highest standards on work performed
  • Maintain security and accountability on access of equipment and facilities
  • Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies and established work practices
