Procurement is a core component of our business and key to our success as one of the world's largest steel producers. United States Steel Corporation (USS) is looking for qualified Management Associates to join our Global Procurement team, HQ in Pittsburgh, PA.

This position is accountable for supporting multiple activities for the Procurement department,
  • Contract Pricing Admin (Oracle BPA and TRACK agreements)
  • Procurement Spend Analytics (OAC)
  • Market Intelligence (Tableau)
  • Artificial Intelligence projects (Copilot, ChatGPT)
  • Source to Contract system (Sourcing, ICM)
This person will also be expected to find innovative ways to reduce non-value added tasks, using technology and tools to improve existing processes where applicable.
Individual must be capable of being hands on and have extraordinary attention to detail. This role requires the ability to multi-task and communicates effectively with multiple departments across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide administration of Contract Price updates in our business system for Blanket Price Agreements and Skilled Labor Rates.
  • Provide administration of the Procurement Requisition to Payment reporting and analytics system.
  • Develop ad hoc Procurement Spending reports and provide requested analysis.
  • Provide administration of the Market Intelligence apps to monitor reporting and extend the capabilities based on business requirements.
  • Participant in AI projects to improve business processes and support the existing AI Market Intelligence reporting.
  • Provide support to Procurement personnel on use of eSourcing (eRFx) and Intelligent Category Management modules.
Experience Required:
  • Background in business administration, supply chain, management information systems (MIS), business analytics, or related field.
  • Understanding of purchasing processes, requisition to PO, master data governance
  • Entry level procurement/supply chain professional with strong interest with the information systems aspects, reporting and analytics, AI, etc.
Personal Skills Required:
  • Time management & prioritization skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Ability to quickly learn and work independently
  • Desire to understand existing processes and identify ways to create efficiencies and streamline processes
Technical Skills Required:
  • Experience with purchasing module in ERP system preferred. Oracle, Oracle Analytics Cloud, MCi TRACK and/or GEP Click experience is a plus.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Strong interest in AI for data / market analytics and process improvement. (Copilot, ChatGPT)
  • Strong Microsoft applications skills (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
