Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking a college intern for the Human Resources department at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. This internship will provide real world insight into the functions and processes of Human Resources management including recruitment, administration and compliance.

This is a paid, part-time internship requiring a commitment of approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist with onboarding of new hires, including processing new hire paperwork and filing

  • Assist with recruiting coordination, including phone screening and proctoring applicant testing sessions

  • Assist with scheduling and confirming candidate interviews

  • Interface with HRIS platform Workday, including data entry and uploading personnel documents

  • Create new hire orientation and benefit packets

  • Maintain file room and update documents as necessary

  • Represent Microchip at career fairs and local events

  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be actively enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Consistent and reliable attendance

  • Professional and dependable

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Keen attention to detail and organization

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Comfort interacting with employees and stakeholders of all levels
