Job description

Elevate the guest experience in the heart of Vail. The Sonnenalp Hotel is seeking a Full-Time Year-Round Housekeeping Supervisor to join our talented housekeeping team. In this role, you'll lead by example, ensuring every guest room and public space meets the exacting standards Sonnenalp and LHW guests expect, while coaching and supporting the room attendants and housemen who bring that standard to life. Application Deadline: Hiring will occur on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until August 17th or until the position is filled.
Wage: $23.00-25.00 /hour
Primary Purpose of Position
The Housekeeping Supervisor-Entry Level is an integral part of the Housekeeping Team who collectively is responsible for the cleanliness and attention to detail of the hotel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the hotel's rooms and public spaces
  • Prepare inspection report with the status of all guest rooms at the beginning of the shift. This includes all guest requests, out of order rooms, and show rooms for the day.
  • Inspect all guest check-out rooms for cleanliness, appropriate guest amenities, and the correct working condition of all guest room equipment.
  • Report any substandard conditions of the guest room to the Housekeeping management.
  • Report any damage or problems with the guest room and room equipment using HotSos and routing the work orders to the Engineering department.
  • Evaluate Room Attendants and Housemen on their job performance according to the hotel standards. When necessary take appropriate action (retraining, etc.) to ensure that their job performance is at a high quality level.
  • Communicate to the Front Desk all vacant and clean rooms, the completion of guest requests, and room status discrepancies.
  • Answer the Housekeeping department's telephone when needed using friendly and proper telephone techniques. The Supervisor will help the calling guests with special requests, information, and status of Lost & Found items.
  • Interact with the hotel's guests in a friendly, positive manner as a solution to their needs and a solution to any of their problems. The Supervisor will often act as a liaison between the guest and the room attendant.
  • Check the hotel's SMS computer for information concerning room status and to enter updated room stat Ensure the maids closets are clean and organized
  • Train and coach Housekeepers and Houseman according to Sonnenalp and LHW standards.
  • Perform any other duties required by the Department's operation and business demands (i.e. Room attendant, Housekeeping coordinator, Houseman, etc).
  • All employees are to arrive to work on time. They must be in proper uniform and name tag. Each employee is responsible for clocking in and out correctly.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma
  • One or less years related experience and/or training
  • Housekeeping supervisory or related job experience preferred
  • Able to communicate effectively in primary languages such as Spanish and English, both written and verbal, preferred
  • Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, nights, holidays and weekends
