Job Overview

Our physical therapists partner with physicians and advanced practice providers across various specialty areas of practice, and coordinate care with patients, families, therapy aides, physical therapy assistants (where applicable), and students. We emphasize evidence-based practice, the use of outcome measures, and collaboration across the sites and disciplines.

Pediatric Pelvic Health encompasses patients primarily referred by Urology (i.e., dysfunctional voiding, daytime incontinence, nocturnal enuresis, chronic UTI, etc.), GI (i.e., constipation, abdominal pain, encopresis, rumination), and Gynecology (i.e., pelvic pain, endometriosis). This program also receives many referrals from our Neuro Gastro Motility Clinic (a specialized clinic that includes PT, OT, Psychology, and Medicine). Goals include empowering patients and families to incorporate home program and lifestyle changes to support improved function and participation. Patients referred for pelvic health concerns may also have a neurodevelopmental diagnosis (i.e., CP, hypotonia, developmental delay, or other genetic conditions) or musculoskeletal considerations (including tightness or weakness of hips and core, hypermobility, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, etc). Patient ages can range from 3-18 years. The right fit for our team is someone who has experience with pelvic health diagnoses, pediatric orthopedics and/or neurodevelopmental diagnoses, works well in a team setting and is committed to patients and their families. Orientation and training specific to our pelvic health patient population plus orthopedic and neuromuscular comorbidities will be provided.

The Physical Therapist I provide physical therapy services including evaluation, treatment and follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatient and outpatient children referred to the physical therapy department.
