Job Overview: The Entry-Level IT Help Desk Technician provides hands-on technical support across the organization, ensuring employees have reliable, well-maintained equipment and smooth onboarding/offboarding experiences. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is eager to learn, troubleshoot, and support day-to-day technical operations. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mississauga, with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 8:00-5:00 PM.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Unbox, configure, and set up computer workstations, monitors, peripherals, and desk equipment.
  • Monitor office tech inventory and coordinate ordering of IT supplies, accessories, and replacement parts.
  • Guide new employees through technical onboarding, including software setup, email configuration, and tool access.
  • Manage user account creation, password resets, and offboarding tasks.
  • Prepare and wipe equipment for departing employees, ensuring proper data archiving.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for daily IT troubleshooting involving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Perform routine system updates, software installations, and health checks.
  • Support small administrative IT projects such as documentation updates, cabling organization, and audit logs.
  • Provide flexible assistance for ad-hoc technical or operational tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational background, internship, or foundational experience in IT, computer science, or technical support.
  • Comfortable working with desktop hardware, Windows/macOS, office technology, and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to run simple queries or interpret basic database structures; full proficiency not required.
  • Curious approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
