Job description

Exciting and highly rewarding opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer looking to join the team in Seattle! This is a hybrid position with working three days in the office and two days remote.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis while designing complex sustainable building performance systems
  • Perform duties including equipment selection/sizing and heat load analysis
  • Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, design details, and construction documentation
  • Participate in project development and fee estimating
  • Attend client presentations/interviews
  • Perform inspections/assessment at project sites
  • May serve as mechanical intense projects
  • Assist with business development



Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college/university
  • 6+ years of progressive design experience of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems) for commercial and/or industrial facilities
  • PE License in one or more states with the ability to obtain registration through reciprocity within additional states
  • Business development experience
  • Prior experience in energy modeling of mechanical HVAC systems
  • Experience responding to Requests for Proposals (including estimating mechanical fees)
  • Previous experience performing facility or building load calculations, analyzing system components/capabilities, and sizing ductwork and/or piping systems
  • Construction administration/inspection experience
  • Working knowledge associated with design coordination on larger, multi-disciplined projects: Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Structural, etc.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit MEP preferred
  • Previous experience working with energy modeling software such as Trane Trace 3D preferred
  • Previous experience in fire protection system design, and boiler and/or chiller system design for facilities preferred
  • Previous experience with the creation of air balance diagrams, process flow diagrams, equipment general arrangement drawings and piping/HVAC plan drawings preferred
  • LEED certification preferred
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required


Salary is commensurate with experience.
