Job Summary
The University of North Georgia's College of Health & Wellness is seeking applications of for a Tenured Track, Assistant Professor of Health Informatics & Administration. The Department of Health Administration currently is offering the Assistant Professor position for the Health Informatics & Administration online degree programs offered by UNG. Ideal candidates will have a teaching and professional background in healthcare informatics or related fields. Candidate will reside within reasonable driving distance of the University of North Georgia Dahlonega campus and be available for required on-campus activities.

Responsibilities
  • The Assistant Professor will provide online instruction in health informatics & administration, develop and maintain course offerings in health informatics & administration; and provide assistance in additional health administration program development.
  • Establish and/or continue a research agenda in healthcare informatics and/or interdisciplinary healthcare.
  • This position includes expectations for teaching, scholarship and service.
  • Advise and mentor students in program completion, career counseling, and research or internships.
  • Regular on-campus participation is expected multiple times throughout the academic year to support teaching, scholarship, service, governance, student engagement, and departmental initiatives.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in healthcare informatics or related field.
  • Professional experience in healthcare informatics or related field.
  • Ability to articulate a plan for establishment of a line of research in health informatics & administration.
  • Teaching experience, specifically online teaching.
  • Experience in healthcare informatics in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in online teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to the state of Georgia.
