Job description

Job Summary

The Government Services Account Coordinator owns the day-to-day operational execution for BlueGrace's federal, state, and municipal freight accounts - an environment where reliability, compliance, and precise reporting are contractual obligations, not optional best practices. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a vetted carrier network, managing award go-lives, and ensuring committed government shipments move on time and in full. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, thrives in a high-volume task environment, communicates with clarity, and takes personal ownership of outcomes. This is a hands-on position with direct, visible impact on mission-critical freight.

Shift: 9 am to 6 pm AZ time

Please note that this position is on-site at our office located at 5350 East High Street, Bldg A4, Suite 200, Phoenix, Arizona 85054.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carrier Network & Capacity Management

  • Build and maintain a dedicated network of vetted, high-performing truckload carriers for government and strategic accounts.
  • Maintain carrier performance and compliance scorecards; lead periodic carrier check-in calls to review KPIs and address performance gaps.
  • Manage carrier contact records, equipment data, and driver information with a high standard of accuracy in the TMS.
  • Support trailer pool management processes and related technology tools.

Award Go-Lives & Lane Operations

  • Own award go-lives end-to-end, coordinating across internal teams and carrier partners to ensure new lanes are fully operational from day one.
  • Track tendered volumes, shipment cadence, and award commitments against contractual obligations; flag deviations proactively.
  • Maintain route guides, facility records, and contact information for shippers and consignees across all customer sites.

Tracking, Visibility & Exception Management

  • Monitor real-time and autonomous shipment tracking via FourKites and project44 to maintain continuous visibility on in-transit government freight.
  • Identify and resolve daily operational exceptions quickly; escalate proactively when a shipment or carrier relationship is at risk.
  • Follow up with carriers to collect PODs, invoices, and all required supporting documentation within required timeframes.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate shipment, equipment, and tender records across all government customer accounts.
  • Learn and apply each customer's specific KPIs and reporting requirements to daily operational decision-making.
  • Generate and distribute operational reports and lane performance summaries as required by account and management teams.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in logistics, freight operations, or supply chain preferred; motivated entry-level candidates from any background encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with TMS platforms, carrier portals, or visibility tools (FourKites, project44) a plus.
  • Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills; comfortable as the voice of the account to carrier partners.
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail - precision matters in government reporting and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; quick to learn and navigate new systems and technology platforms.
  • Available to work Monday-Friday in office, with occasional evening or weekend email monitoring for time-sensitive issues.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field a plus.
  •

Key Competencies

  • Drive for Results - takes ownership of outcomes with urgency and accountability.
  • Collaboration - partners effectively across internal teams and carrier relationships to hit shared goals.
  • Adaptability - stays organized and effective in a fast-changing, high-stakes operational environment.
  • Tech Fluency - comfortable in Microsoft Office and quick to adopt new logistics systems and tools.
  • Attention to Detail - manages high-volume transactional work without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
