Job description

Job Title: DevOps Engineer I
What You Will Do
As a DevOps Engineer I, you will support the development, deployment, and maintenance of RevSpring's cloud infrastructure and engineering tooling. In this entry-level role, you will build foundational skills in automation, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and reliability engineering while collaborating with peers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with product managers, developers, and business leaders to translate requirements into software or infrastructure solutions.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Support: Assist in supporting AWS and GCP cloud environments used to develop, test, and deploy RevSpring products.
  • DevOps Tooling & Pipelines: Help define and support tools and pipelines that power the SDLC and improve productivity for engineering teams.
  • Reliability Advocacy: Promote cloud service reliability principles and help ensure high availability and fault tolerance in production architectures.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Take on technical tasks with ambiguity, identifying issues and contributing to creative solutions.
  • Best Practices Education: Assist in educating internal teams on DevOps practices across the SDLC.
  • Coding & Reviews: Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to help maintain code quality.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
  • Security Implementation: Help implement security controls and improve the security posture of cloud and network architectures.
  • Stay Current on Technology: Keep up with cloud computing, infrastructure, and security trends.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Implement and enhance infrastructure using Terraform and Pulumi.
  • Systems & Tooling: Work with AWS services, Docker, Linux, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Python.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work within an Agile/Scrum team environment.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in the cloud infrastructure on-call rotation.

What You Will Bring
Required Skills & Experience
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (Python a plus).
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of Git.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, IAM, S3, Fargate, Lambda, and VPC.
  • Experience with GCP services such as GCE, GKE, IAM, GCS, VPC, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions.
  • Understanding of Docker, Linux, Shell/Bash, and virtualization technologies.
  • Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with engineering productivity tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.

Bonus Skills
  • Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog).
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards.
  • Works well within a team structure and supports shared goals and responsibilities.
  • Appreciates feedback and uses it to continuously improve.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
