Stillwater Medical Gift Shop is looking for a new coworker to join our team!

Details:
  • Part-time, 16 hours per week
  • Must be able to work 2, 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday, 8:45a - 5:15p (some Fridays required)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Retail Sales Assistant obtains or receives merchandise, totals bill, accepts payment and makes change for customers in the retail store on a full-time basis. She/He will be responsible for providing a warm and inviting customer experience in the retail shop. Also, the Retail Sales Assistant will provide exceptional customer service, as well as strive to achieve sales goals. The Retail Sales Assistant will also be responsible for carrying out all retail directives accurately and effectively that are given by the supervisor or Retail Manager. She/He will maintain the Commitment to Excellence standards which supports the guiding principles of Stillwater Medical Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Extensive computer experience.
  • Good knowledge of merchandise buying procedures and product market values.
  • Superior ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Considerable ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of SMC.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and common fractions and decimals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and patients' families.
  • Demonstrates adequate stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete the necessary work schedule.
  • Able to extensively utilize telephone for communication.
  • Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
  • Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
  • Able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some light lifting of up to 25lbs and bending.
  • Able to climb up and down a ladder to retrieve or stock merchandise.
