• Donor relations and stewardship best practices
• Nonprofit and higher education advancement operations
• Event logistics and production workflows
• Stakeholder and donor communication processes
• Compliance and documentation for gift agreements
• Project coordination and professional workplace communication
• Cross-functional collaboration within University Advancement
• Working closely with advancement leadership and professional staff
• Building a network within a large advancement organization

• Assist with data entry, template updates, and documentation maintenance
• Support updates to the team knowledge base in Asana, Box, or other platforms
• Learn and follow confidentiality, professionalism, and data-handling standards
• Participate in onboarding, training, and team-wide meetings

• Assist with card, gift, and recognition item assembly (holidays, milestones, birthdays)
• Maintain inventory of stewardship materials, supplies, and branded items
• Support stewardship data entry, acknowledgements, and Giving Day activities

• Shadow event preparation, planning meetings, and production workflows
• Support event logistics: setup, materials, check-in, and follow-up tasks

• Proofread communications for clarity, tone, and brand alignment
• Draft short articles, blurbs, or updates for internal use
• Format documents, presentations, or simple web forms

• Assist with documentation workflows
• Organize and update digital gift agreement files
• Gain exposure to compliance processes and donor intent stewardship

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at University of Utah as a student

• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Willingness to learn new systems and follow established processes
• Commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism

• Basic experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Ability to format documents and presentations
• Basic spreadsheet skills (sorting, filtering)
• Comfortable learning new software or digital tools

Preferences

• Interest in nonprofit work, communications, events, or operations
• Experience with project management or collaboration tools (Asana, Airtable, Notion, etc.)
• Customer service or administrative experience
