Yeh and Associates, Inc., Construction Services Department offers our technicians the experience of working on challenging geotechnical, transportation construction, bridge, and roadway projects.
As a Materials Technician, you will assist professional engineers or geologists in the practical application of engineering or scientific processes and techniques on infrastructure projects. You will obtain soil, concrete, and asphalt samples from various sources following standard procedures for specific testing to evaluate whether the materials are suitable for the intended use. Typically, the applicant will represent the owner to verify that the contractor is performing quality work in accordance with project plans. A friendly demeaner and desire to work together as a team to accomplish a common goal are a must.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of construction experience
- ACI Field Certification
- Radiation/HAZMAT Certification
- CAPA A (Asphalt Certification, Marshall and Gyratory experience a plus)
- A comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of construction materials testing
- Prepare detailed and accurate field reports on daily basis
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Self-motivated, with strong technical problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well as part of a team
- Ability to evaluate technical documents such as construction plans and specification
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time for the duration of the project(s)
