Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

The Field Technician 2 is responsible for performing technical tasks in the field with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. This role involves working closely with team members, clients, and supervisors to ensure that all project requirements are met in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and KCI policies. The Field Technician 2 will actively participate in cross-training opportunities to build a stronger team, communicate workflow needs, and learn from senior level technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Execution:
    • Accurately record and report daily forms per project requirements.
    • Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.
    • Review all work assigned before beginning and ensure all tasks are performed according to applicable industry standards and client requirements.
    • Utilizing GPS, tablets, and surveying tools, assist in field data collection for communication infrastructure projects. (Training will be provided)
    • Work with senior designers and project managers to red line field plans, inspect, and correct work for completeness and accuracy before submission.
    • Perform site visits and document existing or proposed fiber pathway
    • Follow safety and documentation standards in the field
    • Maintain organized log of field notes, pictures, and project documents
  •  Requirements
    • Interest in telecommunications, civil design, and/or utility mapping
    • Comfortable working outdoors and on construction sites
    • Ability to walk / hike miles as needed in the field
    • Ability to travel and stay overnight in the area of the site location
    • Basic computer skills (Excel, Email, Google Earth)
    • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
    • Maintain professional attitude while representing the company or the client while in the field
    • Inspect and correct work for completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Communication:
    • Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
    • Clearly communicate workflow needs to your team and supervisor.
  • Compliance:
    • Understand and follow OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies at all times.
    • Review job site safety daily and take immediate action to document and resolve issues.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Participate in cross-training as requested to enhance team capabilities.
    • Work collaboratively with your team to maximize production and accuracy.
  • Other Tasks:
    • Submit accurate time sheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • This is an entry-level position
  • Highschool Diploma/GED

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to maintain required certifications.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background investigations are a condition of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
