Junior CAD Technician / CNC Programmer Operator – Machine Shop
Location: Northeast Precast – Vineland, NJ
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
Northeast Precast is seeking a motivated Junior CAD Technician / CNC Programmer Operator to support our manufacturing, machine shop, and production teams. This entry-level role combines CAD drafting, CNC programming support, and machine shop operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or candidate interested in developing technical skills in both CAD and CNC operations. Northeast Precast is willing to provide onsite training; however, candidates must be willing and able to train in both CAD drafting/design and CNC programming/machine shop operations.
Note: While this is an entry-level position, candidates who bring hands-on machine shop, CNC, machining, or manufacturing experience may qualify for more advanced opportunities and higher starting pay based on experience and skill level.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models
  • Assist with CNC programming and CAM file preparation
  • Support CNC machine setup and machine shop operations
  • Prepare drawings for internal manufacturing and production use
  • Assist with fabrication, tooling, and prototype support
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Collaborate with production and shop personnel to improve manufacturability
  • Maintain drawing revisions, CNC files, and related documentation
  • Follow all manufacturing and safety procedures
Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical school training, or education in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar platforms
  • Interest in manufacturing, CNC machining, and machine shop operations
  • Strong willingness to learn and be trained onsite in both CAD and CNC functions
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable attendance and positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to CNC machining, CAM software, or machine shop equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude or hands-on manufacturing experience
  • Experience with 3D printing or prototyping is a plus
Pay Range
$19.00 – $21.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and skill level.
