Full-Stack Developer, Business Applications & Automation
Murray, UT
ABOUT VLCM
VLCM (pronounced val-com) is shaping the future of enterprise technology partnerships. As a trusted IT solution provider, we specialize in cybersecurity, data center infrastructure, networking, cloud, VOIP, end-user computing, audio-visual, physical security, cabling, and internet services. With clients across industries and geographies, we solve complex IT challenges by collaborating with best-in-class technology partners and hiring the brightest minds in the business.

JOB DESCRIPTION
VLCM is hiring a practical full-stack developer to build internal web applications, data tools, system integrations, and automation that helps teams work better. This role is for someone who likes taking a business problem from conversation to a working, maintainable solution.
You will work directly with internal teams to understand how work gets done, identify the right path, estimate the effort, and own delivery. Sometimes the answer will be custom software. Sometimes it will be an integration, workflow platform, reporting view, or AI-assisted process.
This is not a ticket-only role, and projects will not always arrive with perfect requirements. You should be comfortable clarifying an ambiguous request, proposing a practical first version, and improving it with stakeholder feedback.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
  • Build and maintain web-based internal applications across front end, backend services, APIs, and relational databases.
  • Create data tools, reporting views, and process automations that improve visibility and reduce manual work.
  • Integrate ERP, CRM, email, databases, vendor data, and other business systems through APIs, webhooks, file exchanges, and database work.
  • Interview stakeholders, clarify the business need, define a practical first version, and turn it into a working solution.
  • Scope and prioritize small to medium projects, produce reasonable estimates, and communicate tradeoffs, risks, and progress.
  • Apply good practices for security, access control, data quality, testing, documentation, support, and maintainability.
  • Support rollout and adoption, then improve solutions based on real usage and feedback.
  • Coordinate targeted work with outside developers or specialists when additional expertise is needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Approximately three or more years of software or application development experience, or equivalent evidence of completed work.
  • Hands-on experience with both front-end and back-end development.
  • Experience building web applications and working with SQL-based relational databases.
  • Experience with APIs, integrations, or moving data between business systems.
  • Practical experience using automation or AI tools in software development or business applications.
  • Ability to own a project from the initial business problem through delivery and follow-up.
  • Clear communication with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Good judgment about when to code, when to automate, and when to involve a specialist.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating regularly with the team in person.

Experience with one or more of the following would be helpful, but is not required:
  • TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and a modern web framework.
  • Microsoft Foundry.
  • Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Hubspot
  • SQL Server, SQLite, or another relational database.
  • AI-enabled applications, assistants, agents, or document-processing workflows.
  • Reporting, business intelligence, and customer or vendor data integrations.

You do not need experience with every technology listed above. Strong fundamentals, completed work, learning ability, and practical judgment matter more than matching every product name.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Find more work-life integration with work-from-home and remote opportunities
  • Enjoy nonstop engagement and autonomy to do your job - no micromanaging
  • A fun, creative environment to improve your skills, learn, and have fun
  • A supportive leadership team and culture with strong focus on family and work-life integration
  • We are committed to the health and safety of our people
  • Competitive salary
  • Full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, wellness, etc.)
  • Flexible Time Off
  • No jerks in the building!
