About the role:

As an Engineer 1 - Mechanical/Architectural you will support the Layout and Design Integration Engineering group and have diverse and broad-ranging opportunities to contribute to advanced nuclear plant designs considering plant design integration of systems, equipment, structures, and physical plant arrangement. You will report to the Manager, Layout and Design Integration, Chemical, Piping, Welding and Plant Engineering and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC location. Hybrid Work Schedule.

No relocation assistance will be provided for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work on teams that support the design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects

  • Perform physical arrangement of the nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and support using 3D design software

  • Perform hazards evaluations with 3D plant models and analysis software

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents

  • Work with the Westinghouse proprietary digital design architecture (WNEXUS) to author, review and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D model and plant designs

  • Help prepare reports to satisfy applicable regulatory, code, and customer contract requirements

  • Provide engineering support to design, fabrication, and construction organizations including responding to requests for information (RFI's), identify design changes, and address deviations by working with engineers in different departments and global work locations

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Mechanical or Architectural Engineering preferred

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Willing to pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering licensure (PE)
