Position Summary
We are seeking a Tower Technician to support the core operations of our vertical farm by performing regular cleaning and maintenance of tower structures, irrigation components, and lighting systems. This role is vital to ensuring optimal plant growth, food safety, and operational efficiency. You'll also receive training in automation systems, scissor lift operation, and food safety protocols-making this a great entry-level opportunity for a future in agricultural technology or plant science.
Key Responsibilities
Tower Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain vertical grow towers in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform regular cleaning and inspection of LED lighting systems.
- Conduct inspection and basic maintenance of tower-based irrigation systems, ensuring proper water delivery and nozzle function.
- Disassemble and reassemble tower components as needed.
Systems & Technology
- Operate the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) for the integrated control system after completing on-the-job training.
- Follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and document completed tasks digitally or on paper logs.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and AeroFarms' food safety standards at all times.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment in compliance with USDA/FDA and internal quality standards.
Work Environment
- Work at heights and in tight or enclosed spaces within the vertical farm structure.
- Training provided for safe operation of scissor lifts; must be comfortable working up to 35 feet off the ground.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks in a physically demanding environment.

Qualifications
Required

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical systems.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Basic math skills.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Interest or background in plant science, biology, horticulture, or agriculture.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, food production, or sanitation environment.
- Familiarity with automated systems or interest in agtech.
