RTX is a provider of SkillBridge Fellowship opportunities for transitioning service members to gain an in-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense business from some of the most respected leaders and engineers in the industry. SkillBridge fellows will not be eligible for any compensation during their fellowship, as they will continue to receive all military pay and benefits. To be eligible for a SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements:  

  • Must be on Active-Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces   
  • Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29.

Raytheon: Electronic Warfare and Airborne Sensors department is seeking a SkillBridge to design, develop, and test advanced EW technology and sensor systems across multiple programs. Responsibilities include RF system design, requirements management, testing, production support, and supplier engagement. The ideal SkillBridge is driven, analytical, and collaborative, with strong problem-solving skills and a desire to grow.

What You Will Do:  

  • System Development: Understand the customer’s functional/operational needs and participate in requirements decomposition, overseeing proper allocation of technical elements
  • System Integration & Test: Support system integration, test, design verification, fault identification, failure resolution, and/or acceptance of production hardware.
  • Provide engineering support to lab test and qualification activities, providing engineering oversight to the test, evaluation, and analysis of issues pertaining to system hardware and firmware functionality and performance.
  • Provide support for situations including (but not limited to) customer inquiries, field failures, product obsolescence, system enhancements, new product development, integration and transition to production.
  • Evaluate and assess the performance of developmental electronic warfare systems, including signal processing subsystems

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science and a minimum of 2 years of prior, relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Exposure to RF system design, digital and/or analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance after day one of employment

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • MATLAB, PathWave ADS, and/or PathWave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems.
  • C/C++ or Python programing languages
  • RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in the Electronic Attack (i.e. signals jamming) sub-domain of EW
  • Experience with embedded systems and embedded programming, including the design, development, and implementation of embedded systems on FPGA hardware, as well as utilizing FPGA architectures to create efficient, reliable, and high-performance embedded solutions evidenced by prior roles and projects
  • RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in the Electronic Attack (i.e. signals jamming) sub-domain of Electronic Warfare
