Job description

Build Your Engineering Career with Bridgers & Paxton
Bridgers & Paxton (B&P) engineers innovative, award-winning buildings and environments. Our work ranges from state-of-the-art film production studios and advanced manufacturing facilities to laboratories, hospitals, universities, schools, and commercial buildings.
We believe great engineering brings buildings to life. Our approach goes beyond simply designing systems-we work collaboratively to develop solutions that are practical, cost-effective, sustainable, energy-efficient, and manageable throughout the life of a building.
We are looking for an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team and begin building a career in consulting engineering.
What You'll Do
As an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced Electrical Engineers and Designers on real projects from the beginning. You'll gain hands-on experience in the design of electrical systems for a wide variety of building types while developing the technical and professional skills needed to become a successful consulting engineer.
Under the guidance and mentorship of our senior engineering staff, you will:
  • Assist with the design of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and related systems
  • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selections
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and other construction documents
  • Develop cost estimates and supporting engineering documentation
  • Learn and apply applicable building codes, electrical codes, engineering standards, and design criteria
  • Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, technology, and other disciplines
  • Participate in project meetings and interact with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants
  • Assist with construction administration and gain exposure to how projects are built in the field
  • Work on multiple projects and project types simultaneously
  • Develop the technical knowledge and professional experience needed to progress toward professional engineering licensure
At B&P, entry-level engineers are not limited to repetitive production work. You'll be a valued member of the project team and will have opportunities to contribute meaningful work while learning directly from experienced engineers.
Mentorship & Career Development
We view our entry-level engineers as potential future technical experts and leaders of our firm. Our goal is to provide an environment where you can continue to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and develop into a well-rounded Professional Engineer.
You'll work closely with senior engineers who will mentor you throughout your development. As your knowledge and experience grow, so will your responsibilities, client interaction, and involvement in engineering decisions.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Electrical Engineering program
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and code officials
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary project team
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or other engineering/design software is a plus
  • Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and developing a long-term career in consulting engineering
