Field Service Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain and repair equipment at customer sites. The role focuses on ensuring reliable operation, minimizing downtime, and delivering high-quality technical support and customer service. The ideal candidate combines strong troubleshooting abilities with excellent communication skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently while representing the company on-site.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, start-up, commissioning and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems at customer locations
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions using diagnostic tools, schematics and service manuals to restore equipment to full operation
  • Respond to service calls in a timely manner, prioritizing work and managing parts and time efficiently
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and on-site personnel to ensure safe, optimal operation of equipment
  • Document service activities, maintain accurate service reports, parts usage logs and update maintenance records in the company system
  • Collaborate with engineering, spare parts and support teams to escalate complex issues and implement long-term solutions
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, site-specific rules and regulatory requirements during all field activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, suggesting design or process improvements and participating in service reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical diploma
  • 2+ years of experience in a field service role; experience as a Field Service Engineer is strongly preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical and control systems
  • Proficiency with test equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, PLCs and common field service tools
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel regularly; ability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and service manuals
  • Hands-on Field, Service, Engineer experience and a commitment to safety; certifications (e.g., IPC, electrical, HVAC, or manufacturer-specific) are a plus
