Job description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES Under close supervision, a Field Engineer I performs a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks in the installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems. Work is at an entry level and is generally performed as a member of a project team. Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties: Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical information Keep informed of and study currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering specialty Perform fundamental engineering tasks requiring standard techniques, such as tolerance studies and design calculations Plan and carry out successive engineering steps and resolve technical problems by standard practices and techniques Support projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be prepared Assist in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studies Perform other job-related duties, as required RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assemble, modify and troubleshoot items such as cockpits, image generators, monitors, and displays.

Assemble, modify and troubleshoot the JSE communications systems to include computers, Ethernet, and Fiber Optic networks. Assemble, modify and troubleshoot communications and data systems support structures. Assemble, modify and troubleshoot all hardware associated with the JSE virtual and simulation environment systems and sub-systems.

Coordinate with engineers on the design of systems to include assisting with developing layouts and constructs of the electronic hardware required for simulation control and interface of cockpit systems. Assist in developing and performing operations and maintenance processes and procedures. Assist engineering teams with root cause analysis.

Assists with implementing training and mentorship programs. Supports the daily operation of any planned, corrective, or preventative maintenance events within the JSE environment. Supports design reviews and technical exchange working groups.

Supports test planning events and provides inputs as required. Reviews equipment instructions, blueprints, electrical and mechanical schematics. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE An associateโ€™s degree in engineering or formal academic/vocational training, or military equivalent and four or more years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field are required for this position.

In addition, a Field Engineer I must possess the following qualifications: Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles and familiarity with related engineering fields Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform relatively routine engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions Effective verbal and written communication skills Planning/organizational skills Must possess a valid, state issued driverโ€™s license Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance Must be a U.S. citizen. SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $78,220 to $85,280 annually.

JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidateโ€™s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required. Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
