Job description

Celerity, a well-established telecommunications/construction company in Quakertown, PA is currently looking for an entry-level Fiber Optic Splicing Technician trainee to join our team. You will be hired as a FT permanent employee of the company with benefits and receive on the job training in the field.

If you enjoy working outdoors with your hands and learning a new life-long craft, a career in fiber optics may be an excellent fit for you. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills and the ability to retain information to be hired as a permanent FT employee. Starting salary is $23.00 per hour. This is on-the-job training, no classrooms.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Candidates must be able to eventually adhere to a rotating on-call schedule which may include holidays and/or weekends. Overtime and overnight may be required on an as-needed basis.


Physical and Other Requirements:

This position may require overtime, flexible hours, and some weekends. This position requires the ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ pounds), climb poles (with training), crawl into small spaces, and work at heights. The ability to distinguish colors and shades is also required.
